Department store incident: Witnesses sought by authorities following aggressive outburst by Lübke Moisling

In the heart of Lübeck, Germany, a disturbing incident took place at a charitable department store located on August-Bebel-Straße in Moisling. On Friday, August 29, 2025, a 30-year-old Syrian man allegedly threatened an employee and another customer.

According to the Police Directorate Lübeck, the employee involved in the incident is a 54-year-old woman. The man had purchased a piece of furniture but was refused a refund, which he suspected was due to racist reasons. However, these claims could not be confirmed during the incident report.

The man then proceeded to insult the woman in a sexist manner and threatened another, previously unknown customer. As a result, the employee banned the aggressive customer from the store for one year. It was also reported that employees were afraid to deliver ordered goods to the man due to his verbally aggressive behaviour.

The Police Directorate Lübeck is now seeking witnesses, particularly the customer who was allegedly threatened. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Police Directorate Lübeck at 0451/1310. For inquiries, the Press Office can be reached at 49 (0) 451/131-2004 or [email protected].

In an unfortunate turn of events, another incident occurred at the same store on Monday, August 31, around 11:20 a.m. The customer involved in this incident was also a 30-year-old Syrian man. The details of this incident are currently under investigation.

It is important to note that the name of the customer involved in the threatening incident on Friday morning is not publicly disclosed. The Police Directorate Lübeck urges anyone with information about either incident to come forward and help ensure a safe environment for all.
