The Press Office of the State Capital Wiesbaden has announced that the elevator connecting the Kransand area on the Rhine and the traffic hub at the bridgehead will be out of service for a 12-week repair period, starting from an undisclosed date. The repair work, which includes the fixing of the damaged automatic doors and the elevator system, will be carried out by Niggemeier & Leurs, a family-run elevator and conveyor technology service provider.

The damaged automatic doors were the result of vandalism in June, causing significant disruption to the area. The repair costs for the damage are estimated to be around 6,000 euros.

The elevator, commissioned in August 2024, offers a significant advantage for those using the bus stop "Mainz-Kastel Bridgehead", particularly for people with mobility impairments. It provides a direct, barrier-free connection between the two locations, making commuting easier for many.

However, during the repair period, the operation of the elevator is not technically possible. Citizens can contact the responsible department or office for any questions or concerns related to the repair work.

The press release was issued by the Press Office of the State Capital Wiesbaden, which can be found at Schlossplatz 6, 65183 Wiesbaden. For more information about the press office, visit their website at https://www.wiesbaden.de/pressereferat.

The repair work is expected to take approximately twelve weeks. The company Niggemeier & Leurs, with its own spare parts warehouse and a broad technical team, is ready to ensure fast repairs and get the elevator back in service as soon as possible.

Despite the temporary inconvenience, the repair work is essential to ensure the safety and accessibility of the area for all citizens. The Press Office of the State Capital Wiesbaden encourages everyone to stay informed and follow any updates regarding the repair work.
