The technology landscape continues to evolve, and Key Digital is keeping pace with an update to its popular KD-WP8 keypad. The latest version of the KD-WP8-3 now boasts a host of new features and expanded compatibility, making it an even more versatile tool for controlling a wide range of devices.

One of the most significant additions is the support for the PJLink protocol, joining TCP and UDP. This means the KD-WP8-3 can now seamlessly control projectors that adhere to the PJLink standardised protocol. This update extends Key Digital's commitment to providing interactive control across brand boundaries.

The KD-WP8-3 is also equipped with a simple web GUI for programming, making it easy for users to customise their keypad. The updated keypad now supports programming with variables, allowing for more dynamic and flexible control.

Button command stacking is another new feature, enabling up to 10 commands on a single button press, release, and repeat. This feature streamlines the control process, reducing the number of buttons required for complex operations.

For those looking to personalise their KD-WP8-3, button cap icon sheets and a template for custom printing are provided. Additionally, three pre-programmed files are available for simplified configuration of the KD-WP8-3 for projectors, audio amplifiers, and other devices.

The KD-WP8-3 is designed for ease of installation. It fits into a single-gang wall box and is PoE powered, eliminating the need for additional power cables. Furthermore, the keypad can control any IP-networked Key Digital device, making it a central hub for managing your system.

In terms of integration, the KD-WP8-3 can now work in harmony with additional devices with IR, RS-232, and voltage relay control functionality through integration with one or more of Key Digital's family of master controllers. Control also extends to third-party systems and devices through the Compass Control Pro protocol, user-friendly Open API support, or directly from the KD-WP8-3's integrated IR output and RS-232 port.

With the addition of Telnet support, the KD-WP8-3 can now make a connection with a device and send control commands. This feature opens up a world of possibilities for controlling a vast array of devices.

As a result of Key Digital joining the Q-SYS Technology Partner Program, the KD-WP8-3 is now compatible with Q-SYS via the jointly developed Q-SYS KD-WP8-3 Plugin. This partnership further expands the keypad's versatility, allowing it to integrate seamlessly into Q-SYS systems.

The KD-WP8-3 update represents a significant step forward for Key Digital, providing users with a more powerful and flexible tool for controlling their devices. Whether you're managing a projector, audio system, or a complex network of devices, the KD-WP8-3 is ready to meet your needs.
