Digital pioneers moving from initial crypto enthusiasts to dominant figures in the digital currency sphere

Vietnam is set to take a significant step forward in the digital asset market, with exchanges expected to play a pivotal role in building trust and transparency. Starting in 2026, a new legal framework will be established, enabling local enterprises to participate in the billion-dollar cryptoasset market.

This development was the focus of a panel discussion during Danang Finance and Tech Week 2025, where the development of the digital asset market and the role of exchanges in ensuring a fair and transparent playing field were discussed. The conversation highlighted Vietnam's potential for connecting real-world activity with blockchain, particularly in the area of Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs) for small- and medium-sized businesses.

The growing crypto-friendliness of Vietnam's regulation offers numerous opportunities to explore. For instance, Kenny Li, COO of Manta Network Vietnam, has planned the establishment of crypto exchanges in Ho Chi Minh City and Danang. This move could accelerate Vietnam's goal to become a leading regional hub for digital financial services, enhancing crypto infrastructure, attracting investment, and fostering innovation in the digital finance sector.

Bach Nghiem, co-founder of Vietnamese-developed ATX, has also discussed strategies for domestic exchanges to compete with international counterparts. The increasing crypto-friendliness of Vietnam's regulation could provide a competitive edge for domestic players.

Bridging crypto and the real world is seen as a huge opportunity for Vietnam. Conferences like GM Vietnam 2025 provide an opportunity to experiment with this, potentially unlocking new ways for small businesses to raise funds, such as through ICO tools.

Vietnam's growing interest in digital assets is creating significant opportunities, supported by a young workforce and rapid adaptability. With high crypto adoption already in place, Vietnam is well-positioned to be a perfect testing ground for using digital assets to buy real goods. The future of digital finance in Vietnam looks promising, as the country continues to embrace and innovate in the digital asset market.
