Digitisation Department Welcomes New Leader: Marco Anschütz Takes the Helm

Marco Anschuetz has been appointed as the head of the Digitalization department in the Ministry of Interior, Building, and Digitalization of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. This move comes as the state government sets the course for the digital future of the region.

Anschuetz, who previously served for more than ten years as head of department at the State Audit Office of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, brings a wealth of experience to his new role. During his tenure at the State Audit Office, he was a member of the board for almost three years, with his main areas of responsibility including personnel, IT, and organization, as well as cooperation with all departments of the state administration.

The digitalization of the administration is considered particularly important for citizens, businesses, and employees of the public service in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The "Digital Administration, Digital Infrastructure, and Geoinformation" department in the Ministry of Interior, Building, and Digitalization focuses on administrative digitalization.

Anschuetz's goal is to develop user-friendly, interconnected, and data-secure solutions with the ministry and other departments, as well as municipalities. The department is responsible for the implementation of these digital strategies, such as the E-Government strategy, and drives the expansion of fiber optic and mobile networks.

The employees of the department act as the supervisory authority for authorities and public companies, and ensure legal certainty in matters of real estate or gambling. The department also provides legal support for elections and aims to provide a citizen-friendly administration, particularly in registration and licensing offices.

Christian Pegel, the Minister of Interior, Building, and Digitalization, expressed confidence in Anschuetz's ability to set important impulses for a modern, service-oriented, and secure digital administration. Anschuetz worked closely with several ministries during his time at the State Audit Office, including the Ministry of Economy, Infrastructure, Tourism, and Labor, the Ministry of Interior, Building, and Digitalization, the Ministry of Justice, and the Ministry of Finance.
