Diotima appoints Rachel Scott as the creative director of Proenza Schouler
After the exit of Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez earlier this year, Proenza Schouler remained in limbo. However, the brand has now found a new leader in Jamaican-born designer Rachel Scott.
Scott, who founded the fashion brand Diotima in 2021, has been appointed as the new creative director of Proenza Schouler. She has been working closely with the design studio to shape the brand's creative direction.
In a press release, Proenza Schouler announced the appointment of Scott, with Shira Suveyke Snyder, the CEO of Proenza Schouler, referring to Scott as one of the most celebrated design talents of today. Snyder believes that Scott's profound understanding of Proenza Schouler's brand codes and her exceptional ability to marry craft with innovation make her the natural choice to lead the brand.
Scott is grateful to Snyder for her trust and is honored to step into the role to envision the next chapter of Proenza Schouler. She expressed her admiration for the brand and her respect for the world that McCollough and Hernandez have created.
Scott's debut collection for Proenza Schouler will be in February 2026 for the AW26 collection. The brand believes that Scott will bring a "global design perspective", vast technical knowledge, and a distinctive new voice to the brand.
Meanwhile, McCollough and Hernandez are taking over the reins of Loewe from Jonathan Anderson. Diotima, Scott's previous brand, has been shortlisted for the 2025 Woolmark Prize and received the 2024 CFDA American Womenswear Designer of the Year award.
Scott's perspective will continue to unfold over the coming seasons at Proenza Schouler, and she looks forward to bringing her perspective in dialogue with the legacy of the brand. Rachel Scott is excited to lead Proenza Schouler into a new era, and we can't wait to see what she has in store for us.
