Diplomacy Encouraged by Madeleine Albright during ASI Orlando Keynote Speech

ASI Orlando 2019: A Successful Gathering of the Promotional Products Industry

The ASI Orlando 2019 show, held earlier this year, was a resounding success, attracting over 4,500 distributor attendees and 2,556 attendees from Florida alone. The three-day event, themed "Discovery Starts Here," offered a plethora of opportunities for networking, learning, and business growth.

One of the highlights of the show was the keynote speech delivered by Madeleine Albright, the former Secretary of State of the United States. Albright, who represented Czechoslovakia (later the Czech Republic) during her tenure, shared her experiences as a refugee and how they shaped her understanding of America's role in the world. She emphasised the importance of diplomacy, teamwork, and an optimistic outlook in challenging times.

Attendees applauded throughout the keynote and expressed positive feedback about Albright's warmth, humor, and teamwork emphasis. Her words resonated with many, with one attendee, Megan Beisser, appreciating Albright's emphasis on teamwork and being inspired by it. Another attendee, George Kleine, was so impressed with Albright's quote about guilt that he immediately decided to print it on T-shirts.

The show had 515 exhibitors, with 63 being new to Orlando. ASI successfully responded to supplier requests to reduce the number of non-members, ensuring a more focused and productive environment for all. The show included exhibitors and distributors from 19 countries and 47 states, making it a truly international event.

Over 1,367 businesspeople enjoyed all-new tracks and classes on Education Day, while 1,256 people enjoyed the latest attractions, food, and entertainment at the ASI Show Bash at Universal Studios Florida. The show also hosted 15 distributor companies who chose Orlando to host their sales meetings, including many Counselor Top 40 companies.

Rita Ugianskis-Fishman, senior vice president and general manager of ASI Show, stated that success is now measured differently. She noted that the show is not just about making sales, but also about building relationships, learning, and growing as a professional.

Distributors and suppliers expressed satisfaction with the show, finding it productive to their business. Melissa Steindler, from Palm Printing, reported an increase in sales every year she has attended the ASI Show. Overall, ASI Orlando 2019 was a testament to the power of networking, learning, and collaboration within the promotional products industry.
