WSOP Main Event 2025: Mizrachi Claims Historic Victory
The 2025 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event is reaching its climax, with Michael Mizrachi emerging as the clear frontrunner after a thrilling day of poker action.
Mizrachi, a US-based player, has clinched the title, winning the $10,000 No-Limit Hold'em event and taking home a staggering $10,000,000. His victory marks a significant milestone in his career, as he becomes the first player ever to win both the Main Event and the Poker Players Championship in the same year. This triumph adds an eighth WSOP bracelet to his impressive collection, cementing his place among the most accomplished players in WSOP history.
Behind Mizrachi, the field is tight, with Chad Power in second place, close to the chip count of the leader. Power has a count of 9,540,000, while Braxton Dunaway, who finished third in this year's tournament, holds 8,600,000 chips.
Dunaway, another US player, is not far behind Mizrachi, and leads the list of bracelet winners still in the Main Event. Sebastian Schulze, with a chip count of 12,745,000, is also a force to be reckoned with.
The remaining 202 players in the Main Event are guaranteed at least $60,000, with a jump to $70,000 at 161st place. The Main Event offers a Field Bonus worth 97 points for the top 99 finishers. A Main Event win would bag 272 fantasy points, and a ninth-place finish gets 127 points.
The action continues in Level 25 with blinds at 30K/60K/60K, and they are expected to play another five two-hour levels on Friday. The $50,000 High Roller is also playing late into the night, fighting to reach a final table from its original field of 252 entries. The High Roller features a prize pool of $11.9 million, with $2.6 million going to the winner on Friday.
Notable performances in the Main Event include Esther Taylor, an ODB Bonus Player, who is having a notable run, and Will Kassouf, who is in the top ten. Rene-Charles Angelil, the son of global music superstar Celine Dion, is also participating in the Main Event.
In addition to Mizrachi's historic victory, the 2025 WSOP series saw other notable achievements. Leo Margets made final table history as one of the few women to reach the Main Event final at this level. Shaun Deeb earned Player of the Year honours for consistent high finishes throughout the series. The WSOP featured 100 live bracelet events—its largest ever—with over 246,000 participants from more than 100 countries and a total prize pool close to half a billion dollars.

Despite Mizrachi's dominance in the casino-games category, particularly in the WSOP Main Event, other players such as Chad Power and Braxton Dunaway continue to challenge him, showcasing the competitiveness of the casino-and-gambling world.
Outside the realm of poker, various sporting events are being held in parallel with the WSOP series, attracting high-profile participants like Rene-Charles Angelil, proving that the casino-games arena is not the only source of thrilling competition.
