The S2N Conference, scheduled for October 22-23, 2023, at the Marinaforum in Regensburg, Germany, promises to be an exciting event for administrators, system architects, data center and IT managers, CTOs, and CIOs. Falk Rösing, a virtualization specialist, will demonstrate minimal downtime migration of virtual machines from vSphere to Proxmox.
Traditional storage topics will be covered, with lectures on the Ceph Orchestrator and the Linux Device Mapper. Error detection in modern networks will be a focus of the event, with c't editor Lutz Labs reporting on fraud cases involving used hard drives and methods to recognize them.
The conference will also delve into the realm of AI in local data centers and automation and infrastructure as code. Ransomware protection will be a significant focus this year, ensuring that attendees are equipped with the latest strategies to safeguard their systems.
Thomas Eifert, CTO of the RWTH Aachen University's IT Center, will discuss the statewide data backup project DataStorage.nrw. The event will conclude with a workshop on the preceding day, October 21, for which a few tickets are still available.
