Disruption at Zug Rathaus Station: No S-Bahn service between Wilhelmsburg and Stade

In an unexpected turn of events, train services on lines S3 and S5 were suspended between Wilhelmsburg and Stade shortly after 12 pm today. The exact cause of the incident remains unknown.

The incident occurred at Harburg Rathaus S-Bahn station, where a tragic accident took place. A person was struck by a train and died at the scene. The S-Bahn train was subsequently pushed back to the station by rescue services, and passengers were evacuated from the train.

During the suspension, passengers were advised to use buses as an alternative. The responsibility for the rail replacement service in Harburg was managed by Verkehrsbetriebe Hamburg-Holstein GmbH (VHH), who organized bus services to bridge the gap.

The S-Bahn service was not affected between Harburg and Wilhelmsburg during the suspension. However, in the direction of the main station, passengers were advised to switch to train services. Passengers were also offered a replacement taxi service between Harburg and Wilhelmsburg.

Police and firefighters were present in large numbers at the scene, and the incident occurred in the tunnel area. The incident caused a significant disruption, with no S-Bahn service available between Wilhelmsburg and Stade until the afternoon.

Passengers were advised to use buses as an alternative between Wilhelmsburg and Stade during the suspension. The S-Bahn service resumed in the afternoon, bringing some semblance of normalcy back to the affected lines.
