Recently, Australian EV enthusiast Greg McCormack took the Polestar 3 on a journey along Western Australia's EV Highway, setting a new SUV world record.

With such impressive specifications, McCormack embarked on a 1755km journey from Albany to Esperance, testing the vehicle's capabilities at highway speeds.
The drive was not without challenges. A detour was required to a 200kW WeVolt charger due to insufficient range, and certain chargers during the journey presented issues. However, the Polestar 3 managed to drive 935km on a single charge, setting a new SUV world record.
The WA EV Highway, a network of more than 7000km of EV-friendly roads, provided essential support for the journey. The highway has 110 charging points, across 49 locations, roughly 200km apart. Along the way, McCormack stopped at charging points in Walpole, where the vehicle was charged at a 150kW Chargefox unit, restoring it to 100% in just 39 minutes.

When fully charged, the Polestar 3 Long Range Single Motor offers a predicted range of 450km. The Single Motor variant of the vehicle costs $118,420, while the Dual Motor version, which provides less claimed range (636km), retails for $132,720.
The cost of charging the Polestar 3 Long Range Single Motor for the 1755km journey was $228 in electricity. While this may seem substantial, the vehicle's impressive range and performance make it a compelling choice for those considering an electric SUV.
