District and Hanseatic City of Lüneburg join in the nationwide initiative #GoodsGratitude

The #WareWunder campaign, initiated by the German Environment Agency, kicks off on June 5, 2025, with a focus on balcony power plants. This nationwide initiative aims to promote sustainable products, offering a balance between sustainability and practicality in everyday life.

The campaign is not limited to balcony power plants alone. It now encompasses various other sustainable topics such as programmable heating thermostats, water-saving showerheads, sustainable jeans, and peat-free potting soil. Cities and municipalities participating in this campaign include Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Cologne, and Frankfurt.

Friederike Lang, the climate protection and public relations officer for the district of Lüneburg, and Juliane Ette, a member of the climate protection team of the Hanseatic city, are spearheading the local efforts for this campaign.

Interested parties can find information about the #WareWunder campaign on the social media channels of the district and the Hanseatic city, as well as at www.our website/warewunder. For those seeking to compare their electricity consumption with comparable households, free energy-saving checks are available on the district's website at www.our website/energy-saving-checks.

Various municipalities in the district of Lüneburg are promoting the installation of balcony power plants, with information on how to install solar energy for balcony power plants available on the district's website and social media.

As the campaign progresses, topics beyond mobility will be addressed in the following months. In September, the focus will shift to mobility and car-sharing. The Hanseatic city will also raffle a balcony power plant among the visitors of various neighborhood festivals, including Kaltenmoor (June 28), Goseburg/Zeltberg (July 5), Lüne-Moorfeld/Ebensberg (August 24), and Neu Hagen/Schutzplatz (September 6).

Stay tuned for more updates on the #WareWunder campaign and join the movement towards a sustainable future!
