On the evening of August 18, 2025, a fire broke out at an agricultural machine in Hefigkofen, Kornstraße. The volunteer fire department in Oberteuringen was alerted to the incident, with several firefighters already at the station due to a training evening, ensuring a quick response.
Upon arrival, the baler was fully engulfed in flames. The firefighters, equipped with several hoses and breathing apparatus, managed to extinguish the blaze. The farmer who pulled the burning machine onto open ground before the fire department arrived played a crucial role in preventing the fire from spreading to nearby buildings.
The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage are still unknown. Water supply for the firefighting operation was ensured through the local hydrant network. The tanker truck from the Friedrichshafen fire department was not deployed at the scene.
