District Reports from Sigmaringen, Pp Ravensburg
In the past few days, several incidents have occurred in Ravensburg and its surrounding areas, prompting investigations by local police stations.
On Wednesday morning, a hit-and-run incident took place on the county road between Zielfingen and Sigmaringendorf. According to reports, a driver fled the scene after a traffic accident, leaving behind a damaged Mercedes that sustained around 10,000 euros in damages. The driver was not located despite a search. The Mercedes was later towed away by a breakdown service.
Around the same time, a 65-year-old worker in Bierstetten had a workplace accident while loading a several hundred kilogram heavy vibrating plate using a wheel loader. The lifting sling broke, causing the vibrating plate to fall and hit the worker on the head. The injured person was taken to a hospital by ambulance. The Bad Saulgau police station has launched an investigation into the exact course of the accident and any possible safety violations.
In a separate incident, unknown perpetrators stole approximately eight meters of wood from a property on Rathausstraße between Monday evening and Wednesday afternoon. The Gammertingen police station has taken up the investigation into the wood theft. The value of the stolen wood is estimated to be several hundred euros.
Meanwhile, in Neufra, a theft of several meters of wood occurred, but the specific details about the incident are not yet known.
On Friday, September 5, 2025, the Ravensburg Police Headquarters will provide information about traffic and crime prevention at the weekly market in Meßkirch from 8 AM to 12:30 PM. A police recruitment officer will be available to answer questions about a career in the police force.

In addition, the Opel driver who failed to yield to a 43-year-old BMW driver at the intersection of Lindenstraße and Mausackerweg in Stetten am kalten Markt on Wednesday afternoon at around 5 PM, resulting in a collision, is being investigated by the police. The total damage to the vehicles was around 25,000 euros.
The person injured in the work accident in Bierstetten on Wednesday at 11:30 AM is not publicly named. The driver of the Mercedes involved in the hit-and-run incident is also not publicly named.
