"Dogson": Nietzard criticizes Söder publically

In a surprising turn of events, Jette Nietzard, the outgoing Green Youth leader, has announced her decision not to run again as federal spokeswoman at the youth organization's federal congress in mid-October. This decision comes amidst a controversy surrounding her social media posts, particularly a video on TikTok where she referred to Bavarian Minister-President and CSU chairman, Markus Söder, as a "son of a bitch" and accused him of prioritizing his own comfort over the well-being of everyone.

The video, approximately 50 seconds long, has caused a stir within the Green Party and beyond. Nietzard's controversial social media posts are not limited to her remarks about Söder. In May, she posted a pullover with the acronym "ACAB" on her private Instagram channel, an acronym that stands for "All Cops Are Bastards."

Party leader Felix Banaszak deemed Nietzard's use of the acronym "inacceptable." He called for a conversation with Nietzard regarding her use of such language, a conversation that has yet to take place. The Bavarian Minister-President, Markus Söder, has not yet responded to Nietzard's criticism.

The controversy surrounding Nietzard's social media posts is not new. She has caused controversy with her previous statements, including derogatory remarks towards Söder and the use of the acronym "ACAB." Nietzard claimed that Söder prioritizes his own comfort over the well-being of everyone, accusing him of living a luxurious life by eating and traveling without working. She also criticized his apparent lack of attendance at federal council meetings and in parliament.

The successor of Jette Nietzard as federal spokesperson of the Green Youth has not been officially announced yet. However, Henriette Held, the state chair of the Green Youth in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, is a candidate planning to run for the position soon.

Nietzard's decision not to run again as federal spokeswoman may be related to the criticism she has received. As she steps down from her post, the Green Party will need to navigate this controversy and decide on a new course for the youth organization's leadership.
