Donald Trump issues an ultimatum to Hamas: Consider the ransom proposal

In a significant development, US President Donald Trump has proposed a ceasefire deal in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza. The proposal, reported by news agency Reuters, citing Israel's N12 News, was put forth on Saturday.

Israel's Foreign Minister, Gideon Saar, made these statements during a press conference with his Danish counterpart in Jerusalem. Saar stated that the war in Gaza could end if Hamas released the hostages and laid down its weapons.

Trump's ceasefire deal includes Hamas freeing all remaining 48 hostages on the first day of the truce in exchange for thousands of Palestinian prisoners jailed in Israel. The proposal also includes negotiating an end to the war during a ceasefire in the Gaza enclave.

Trump wrote about the proposal on his Truth Social platform, stating that the Israelis have accepted his terms for a ceasefire. He also warned Hamas about the consequences of not accepting his ceasefire proposal, stating that this would be his "last warning."

It is unclear if Hamas has responded to Trump's ceasefire proposal at the time of this report. An Israeli official is "seriously considering" Trump's ceasefire proposal, according to Reuters.

Meanwhile, the Israeli military has issued a warning to Gaza City residents to leave and has bombed a high-rise tower in the area. The details of the Israeli military's warning and bombing were also reported by Reuters, citing Israel's N12 News.

Hamas, however, has reiterated its long-standing position that it would free all hostages if Israel agreed to an end to the war and withdrew its forces from Gaza City.

At the time of writing, there has been no further update on the status of Trump's ceasefire proposal or the ongoing conflict in Gaza. This article will be updated as more information becomes available.
