ExciteLab Accelerator Program Kicks Off in October 2023

The ExciteLab, a new space for creative-tech know-how and young companies in Dresden, is gearing up to launch its Accelerator Program in October 2023. This program, supported by leading companies such as Infineon, Mazars, and ZEISS, aims to bring science and industry together more effectively, shortening the development time from the first idea to market readiness.

The ExciteLab is part of TUD|excite, the Center of Excellence for Innovation, Transfer, and Entrepreneurship of TU Dresden. This centre is managed by the Leipzig SpinLab in cooperation with the Technical University of Dresden.

The Accelerator Program offers numerous benefits to participating startups. These include funding of 6,000 euros or more, free or reduced participation in industry events, and access to the startup community and partner networks. Additionally, startups will have the opportunity to participate in exciting pilot programs and receive one-on-one mentoring.

Applications for the Accelerator Program are open until August 27, 2024. The program focuses on key technologies such as IoT, semiconductors, robotics, sensors, and quantum computing. By driving the overall competitiveness of the region, the ExciteLab also aims to increase Dresden's attractiveness for international talents and investors.

Dr. Gregory Lecrivain, who leads the ExciteLab, stated, "Our goal is to bring science and industry together more effectively, creating a vibrant ecosystem that fosters innovation and supports the growth of high-tech startups."

The ExciteLab is supported by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR) and the Free State of Saxony. The centre for innovation, transfer, and entrepreneurship (TUD|excite) at TU Dresden coordinates IP management, know-how transfer, and the startup service dresden|exists under this umbrella.

With the ExciteLab Accelerator Program, Dresden is set to become a hub for high-tech startups, attracting international talents and investors, and driving the region's competitiveness.
