Driver in Kamchatka forcibly disembarks a minor from bus, mother seeks clarification

In Kamchatka Krai, a mother named Anna has taken a stand against a bus driver who allegedly violated the rights of her two fifth-grade children. Anna, who contacted local information service KamInfo with her complaint, shared that her children were kicked off a public bus despite existing legislation.

The State Traffic Safety Inspectorate (GIBDD) is the authority responsible for monitoring compliance with regulations on bus rides in Kamchatka Krai. According to the Federal Law of April 20, 2021, which applies to buses, trams, and trolleybuses, drivers and officials may be held administratively responsible for forcing out minors under 16 from public transportation.

Anna's children, who attend a school far from home, had to walk part of the way, posing a safety risk as the route lacked sidewalks. On one occasion, they boarded a bus but were later ejected due to not having the fare. The driver refused when the children offered to transfer the money via phone number, and they had forgotten their payment cards at home.

The children have faced repeated rude treatment from drivers in similar circumstances. Anna emphasized this issue, stating that she believes the problem is systemic. She is outraged that the driver broke the law, which prohibits kicking out minors from public transportation.

After learning about the incident, Anna went to pick up her children and subsequently filed a complaint with the bus park management. The management responded to Anna's complaint, but it is unclear what actions have been taken to address the issue.

Anna plans to appeal to higher authorities to draw attention to the problem and bring changes to public transportation. She intends to encourage other parents to be vigilant and report such cases to prevent them in the future.

Under the law, the driver may be fined up to five thousand rubles, while officials may face fines ranging from twenty to thirty thousand rubles. Anna's efforts to hold those responsible accountable could serve as a reminder to drivers and officials to uphold the rights of minors using public transportation in Kamchatka Krai.
