In the heart of Holby, a deadly batch of party pills is causing chaos, as young patients flood the emergency department (ED) with symptoms associated with synthetic opioids. This crisis unfolds in the 5th episode of the 12-part series "Supply and Demand," airing on August 2, 2025, on BBC One at 8:20 am, as part of the long-running medical drama Casualty (Season 46, Episode 5).

The episode focuses on the ED team, including characters Siobhan and Nicole, though the specific actors portraying these roles are yet to be confirmed. The narrative revolves around the emergency department's struggle to cope with the surge of patients, while also delving into storylines involving Siobhan and Nicole.

Meanwhile, off-duty paramedic Teddy Gowan, a regular character in Casualty, finds himself in a precarious situation. After a night out at the new club, Euphoria, which is launching during a music festival and graduation celebrations, Teddy, along with some of his co-workers, makes a regrettable decision to partake in party drugs.

However, Teddy's night takes a turn for the worse when he attempts to break into a house to treat a high-risk patient, Grace Miller. His heart condition causes distressing symptoms, potentially putting his life at risk.

The crisis at Holby ED also puts other characters in challenging positions. Nicole Piper finds herself in a difficult situation due to the actions of Cassie Woods. Meanwhile, Indie Jankowski, a co-worker of Teddy Gowan, climbs in a window to attend to vulnerable Grace Miller, potentially putting herself in danger.

Advanced clinical practitioner Faith Cadogan has reason to believe that the paramedic could be responsible for the morphine theft that has been causing trouble within the hospital. Teddy still harbors resentment towards Indie Jankowski due to a past event.

Elsewhere in the drama, Rash Masum contemplates taking Sunny Callahan on an unconventional first date, while Siobhan McKenzie and Jan are unable to contact the younger medics during the shift, causing concern.

As Casualty returns this week after a break in the schedules, viewers are in for a rollercoaster ride of emotions and suspense. Don't miss the 5th episode of "Supply and Demand" on August 2, 2025, on BBC One at 8:20 am.
