Drug Trafficking Uncovered in Mülheim: Large Sums of Money, Guns, and Illicit Substances Seized Following Focus Group Investigation (Pol-K: 250707-1-K/REK)

In a significant operation on July 5th, the Cologne Police Department, in collaboration with the customs service, took action against organized drug trafficking in the Cologne area. The operation, led by the focus group Mülheim, resulted in the temporary arrest of three suspects: a 27-year-old driver, a 35-year-old passenger, and a 59-year-old woman.

The operation began with a traffic control at the intersection of Frankfurter Straße / Montanusstraße, where a gray car was stopped. Inside the vehicle, cannabis was found, and the driver was found to be in possession of a bag containing LSD, cocaine, and several hundred euros in cash. Further searches revealed additional thousand euros in his pants pocket and underwear during police custody.

Further investigations led to apartment searches, where significant amounts of narcotics, including MDMA, cocaine, hallucinogenic mushrooms, and amphetamines, were discovered in an apartment in Cologne-Weiß. Over 40,000 euros in cash and 10 bags of "Magic Mushrooms" were found in this apartment alone.

The 35-year-old passenger is under investigation for drug trafficking, with small amounts of ketamine and ecstasy found during a court-ordered search of his apartment on Wilhelmstraße. Furthermore, a PTB weapon with a magazine and knuckledusters were found during the apartment searches.

Additional search warrants for two additional apartments in the family environment led to the discovery of more evidence related to the drug trafficking case. Multiple mobile phones and a five-figure sum of cash were secured during these searches.

The driver initially gave false information about his residence. During a court-ordered search at the driver's residence in Hürth, cannabis, hashish in a significant amount, greater amounts of cash, jewelry, and gold were found and secured.

The suspects involved in this organized drug trafficking investigation in Cologne in July 2025 include two main suspects aged 28 and 38 from Pforzheim and Ludwigshafen, who are alleged to have operated a large-scale illegal trade of amphetamines, MDMA, cocaine, cannabis, and prescription drugs, partly using an illegal cannabis plantation. They remain under investigation along with other associated individuals.
