On Thursday, 28th August 2025, a serious accident occurred on the Achternmeerer Straße in Wardenburg, Delmenhorst, Wesermarsh. A 30-year-old Opel driver, under the influence of alcohol, collided head-on with a parked lorry.
According to the police, the incident took place around 21:00. The breath alcohol test conducted at the scene showed a reading of 1.5 per mille for the 30-year-old. A doctor took a blood sample from the individual for further analysis.
The impact of the collision left the 30-year-old slightly injured. A passing ambulance took the driver to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Fortunately, there was no one in the parked lorry at the time of the collision.
The two vehicles involved in the accident were no longer roadworthy and needed to be towed away. The Achternmeer fire brigade was called to handle any leaking fluids.
An investigation has been launched against the 30-year-old Opel driver. The name of the police officer coordinating the investigation process is not provided.
