Dubai Judicial System confirms capital punishment for an Arab man who slaughtered his former European girlfriend.

In a shocking turn of events, the Dubai Court of Appeal has sentenced Huda Ata to death for the premeditated murder of a 24-year-old European woman in a residential building in Dubai. The attack occurred on July 16, 2020.

The tragedy unfolded when an eyewitness security guard was alerted to a disturbance on the seventh floor of the building. Upon investigation, the guard discovered blood near the stairwell and found the victim lying in a pool of blood on a higher level.

Emergency services were called to the scene, but the victim was pronounced dead. CCTV footage and forensic evidence led police to the accused, who was apprehended hours later near a shopping center.

The court records detail the events leading up to the murder. The defendant, Huda Ata, had been in a relationship with the victim since 2017. However, the man became increasingly controlling and obsessive, following her movements online and threatening her after she tried to break off their relationship.

The man's resentment deepened when he lent the victim Dh30,000 in 2019, only to find out later that she was in a relationship with another man. The defendant lay in wait for the victim near her apartment and, when she rejected his attempts at reconciliation, he attacked her with a knife and other tools purchased in advance.

The court documents show that the defendant had armed himself with a knife, rope, hammer, and tape, and had surveilled the woman before the ambush. The victim was killed after she rejected the defendant's attempts at reconciliation.

During interrogation, the man confessed to the relationship and the motive behind the murder. The accused fled the building, changed clothes at a friend's residence, and attempted to escape to another emirate.

The defendant's actions were carried out with premeditation and intent, as evidenced by his preparations and the nature of the attack. The court's decision to sentence Huda Ata to death reflects the gravity of the crime and the need for justice for the victim and her family.
