In a bid to reduce emissions and improve traffic efficiency, the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) Dubai has agreed to implement digital twin technology in the city. This groundbreaking move is the result of a new deal with YuTraffic FUSION, a leading provider of digital twin solutions.

The digital twin platform, designed to accommodate future advancements in autonomous transport, will be a key part of Dubai's smart city agenda. It will be implemented at traffic hotspots across Dubai in partnership with Yunex Traffic, local distribution partner Scientechnic, and the RTA.

The platform will use real-time simulation and data analytics to optimise traffic flow, making Dubai's roads more efficient. It will also support connected vehicle technologies, enabling integrated multimodal transport in the city.

Dubai, with over three million vehicles during peak hours and hundreds of millions of annual public transport users, is investing in simulation-based tools to align mobility with environmental and infrastructure goals. This digital twin platform forms a crucial part of this strategy, aiming to make Dubai more sustainable and efficient in transportation.

Meanwhile, the UK's transportation sector is also gearing up for innovation. The fourth annual CiTTi Awards will take place on 25 November 2025 at De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in London. These awards aim to recognise achievements and innovations in automation and robotics in the UK's transportation sector. For more information, visit www.cittiawards.co.uk. (Advertisement)

The digital twin platform will be instrumental in improving traffic management in Dubai, ultimately contributing to a better quality of life for its residents and visitors. The RTA's forward-thinking approach to technology is setting a strong example for other cities around the world.
