Duisburg region: Appointment of 203 new police commissioners confirmed in the city!

In a significant ceremony held at the historic cultural and citizen center "Steinhof" in Duisburg, 203 students from the University of Applied Sciences for Police and Public Administration in North Rhine-Westphalia (HSPV NRW) were appointed as police commissioners.

The appointment ceremony, which marked a milestone in the careers of the newly appointed officers, was attended by Police President Alexander Dierselhuis, Senior Government Director Birgit Grünschläger, and the heads of the cooperating authorities. During the event, the newly appointed commissioners were presented with their appointment certificates and the first shoulder straps with one silver star each for their service uniforms.

Alexander Dierselhuis, the Police President in Duisburg, congratulated the graduates, emphasizing the diversity of police work and the excitement, challenge, and attractiveness of the profession. He also highlighted the importance of their roles in ensuring the safety of citizens until their retirement.

Of the 203 newly appointed commissioners, 63 will join the Duisburg Police starting September 1. The remaining 140 officers from the ceremony will reinforce the police departments in Mönchengladbach, Krefeld, Kleve, Viersen, and Wesel. This appointment is part of a larger effort to reinforce police departments in various cities in the region.

The Duisburg Police, along with cooperating authorities, has trained the newly appointed police commissioners. The Duisburg Police, one of ten recruitment and training authorities in North Rhine-Westphalia, is committed to equipping its officers with the necessary skills and knowledge to serve the community effectively.

For those interested in joining the police force, application requirements can be found online. Outside of office hours, there is a separate contact number for Police Duisburg. For further questions, journalists can contact the Press Office of Police Duisburg, which can be reached via phone, fax, or email.

This year, the North Rhine-Westphalian police will recruit up to 3,000 police commissioner trainees. The work of the police includes roles such as patrol and shift service, and criminal police, all aimed at maintaining law and order and ensuring the safety of the public.

The information was originally transmitted by Police Duisburg via news aktuell. The new police commissioners are ready to start their daily work to serve and protect their communities.
