Duke Emmy Square Transitions into a Vernal Area
In the heart of Münster, Germany, a significant change is underway. Holz GmbH, a developer based in Emsdetten, has been entrusted with the redesign of Emmy-Herzog Square, located in the residential quarter Markweg (Rumphorst).
The project, which began on September 1, 2021, aims to transform the square into a green pocket park, featuring new paving surfaces, seating areas, and an abundance of trees and shrubs.
While the construction period may cause temporary inconveniences for pedestrians, cyclists, and vehicle traffic, the city of Münster and Holz GmbH are working together to ensure minimal disruption. Signage will be provided to guide pedestrians, cyclists, and vehicles around the construction site. Detours will be signposted for pedestrians, cyclists, and vehicles during the construction.
Access to adjacent properties during construction will be maintained as much as possible, and the construction period will not completely disrupt access to adjacent properties or the surrounding area. Accessibility within the park will also be improved as part of the redesign.
The redesign is expected to be completed by the end of February 2026. Despite the temporary changes, the end result promises to be a beautiful and accessible green space for the community to enjoy.
The city of Münster looks forward to the completion of this project, which will undoubtedly enhance the local community and contribute to the city's vibrant and green environment.
