Edinburgh's renowned sculpture park to launch year-round operation for the first time.
Jupiter Artland, the contemporary sculpture park and art gallery in Scotland, will extend its opening hours during autumn and winter 2025. The park, which was founded in 2009 and occupies over 120 acres of meadows and woodland in the hunting grounds of a former Jacobean manor house, will be open four days per week – specifically from Thursday to Sunday.
Nicky Wilson, the founder and director of Jupiter Artland, has described the upcoming exhibitions as "promising and ambitious." These exhibitions, starting from 11 October, will feature artists Tai Shani, Georg Wilson, and Florence Peake.
Visitors are encouraged to buy their tickets online in advance to avoid queues. The entry fee for adults is £11.80 (around €13.50), £10.80 (€12.50) for over 65s, and £7.50 (€8.60) for children.
Jupiter Artland is located approximately a 30-minute drive outside Edinburgh, near Edinburgh Airport. The immersive space offers experiences suitable for all ages and interests, including functional swimming pools and dining experiences.
In addition to the regular exhibitions, Jupiter Artland will offer a series of shows, events, and experiences tailored for the change in the Scottish landscape during autumn and winter. These special events range from picnics, sound baths, and wild swimming to fall-themed and Christmassy family-friendly afternoon teas and Café Parties. Hot chocolates, fire pits, smores, and roasted chestnuts will also be available.
Nicky Wilson has stated that these winter shows and events will be suited to the change in temperature and tone of the Scottish landscape as the nights draw in. The park's reduced visitor timetables between November and February will operate less than 60% of its usual seven-day week.
Visitors can also book to stay at the site's Artist's House and even hold their wedding celebrations in the park. Jupiter Artland was described by Time Out as one of the best sculpture parks in the UK. With works by major artists like Tracy Emin, Antony Gormley, and Anish Kapoor, the park promises to provide a unique and unforgettable experience.
