Elderly Female Resident in Dinslaken Falls Prey to Fraudulent Handymen
The Circles Police Authority Wesel, responsible for the Dinslaken-Oberlohberg area, is investigating a case involving an intruder who posed as a water shutoff person and victimised an 81-year-old woman on Monday afternoon.
The man, described as approximately 50 years old, 170 cm tall, slim, with black hair, wearing dark pants, and an orange jacket, gained access to the woman's house around 1 p.m., claiming that he needed to shut off and check the water due to contamination. After finishing work on the water taps in the basement, the man left the house, and the woman noticed that parts of her apartment had been searched and cash and jewelry were missing.
The Circles Police Authority Wesel is urging anyone with information related to the ongoing case in Dinslaken-Oberlohberg to come forward. This includes any reports of suspicious handymen in the area or similar incidents. The police have asked anyone with relevant information to contact the Dinslaken East Police Station at 02064-622 0.
