In the quiet town of St. Augustin, Rhein-Sieg District, a theft occurred on September 2 that has left authorities searching for answers. The Circles Police Department is urging the public to come forward with any information that could help in the investigation.

The stolen items, valued at approximately 500 euros, include a gold watch with a leather strap and the engraving "TV lottery" and a white gold necklace. These items were left openly on a living room table.

The suspect is described as a man between 30 and 35 years old, standing at around 1.70 m tall, slim, with dark hair, no beard, glasses, or hat. He was wearing a gray vest and blue jeans and was speaking in High German.

According to reports, the suspect initially fiddled with the sink in the guest WC on the ground floor before going down to the basement. He managed to distract a 79-year-old woman in Holzweg, Mülldorf, by asking her to keep an eye on a connection in the guest WC, giving him a brief opportunity to leave the house with the stolen items.

The Circles Police Department is warning the public against frauds by fake handymen. They advise not to let strangers into your living space without an appointment, asking for identification, and contacting the supposed ordering party or the police if in doubt.
