Elderly lady discovered deceased near the Elbe river
In a tragic incident that unfolded on August 26, 2025, an 86-year-old woman from Geesthacht was reported missing to the police. The incident took place in the town of Geesthacht, and the rescue operation commenced during the midday hours.
The joint press release, issued by the Public Prosecutor's Office Lübeck and the Police Directorate Ratzeburg, informed that the rescue took place near Werfstraße on the Elbe water. The authorities involved in the operation were able to locate the missing woman, but unfortunately, she was found lifeless in the water.
