Elderly Man and Young Woman Identified in Amelinghausen, Heather Queen Referenced
In a heartwarming moment at the end of the nine-day Heideblütenfest in August 2025, 21-year-old law student Emma Kremer was crowned as the 75th Heide Queen of Amelinghausen. The announcement was met with tears of joy from Emma and the crowd.
Emma succeeds Nele Rörup, who served as the Heide Queen for the previous year. Nele, a 25-year-old business student, represented the Lüneburg Heath at over 90 events during her reign.
The Heide Queen position, which has existed since 1949, comes with around 100 representation events during the reign. Emma will represent the Samtgemeinde with its five member communities, the district, and the Lüneburg Heath region.
During the coronation ceremony, Emma participated in a parade on one of about 20 floats, watched by thousands of people. The parade is a highlight of the Heideblütenfest, a celebration of the Lüneburg Heath's unique flora and culture.
Emma is the 75th Heide Queen of Amelinghausen, chosen from six candidates during the Heideblütenfest. Notable past Heide Queens include actress Jenny Elvers, who represented her home region 35 years ago.
As the new Heide Queen, Emma can expect a busy year ahead, filled with representation events in her role as the face of Amelinghausen and the Lüneburg Heath. We wish her the best of luck in her reign.
