Elderly woman in Dusseldorf Wersten, targeted and robbed by a trio of females within her own residence.
In a series of events that unfolded on Tuesday afternoon (11.2.), a trio of thieves, including two women and a getaway driver, were apprehended by police in Wersten. The incident occurred around 12:30 PM on Werstener Dorfstraße.
The thieves gained entry into a 95-year-old woman's apartment under false pretenses. One of the women held a cloth over the victim's face and forced her into the kitchen, while her accomplice searched the apartment. The senior citizen was unharmed during the incident.
A neighbor witnessed the two women running out of the building and getting into a silver Renault. The neighbor immediately alerted the police about the suspicious activity. The vehicle used by the thieves was spotted at the intersection of Kölner Landstraße and Werstener Dorfstraße by police.
The driver, a 20-year-old known to police, fled the scene and was driving recklessly, disregarding traffic laws. Police stopped the vehicle at Kölner Landstraße 88. The driver was suspected of driving under the influence of intoxicants, and two blood samples were taken. His license was confiscated.
The stolen items from the senior's apartment were recovered from the vehicle. All three women, aged 43, 45, and 60, were also known to police and were taken into custody. The trio was presented to a judge.
