Kia Introduces the EV4 GT: A Compact Sports Crossover Electric Vehicle
Kia Motors has announced the upcoming launch of the EV4 GT, a new addition to their electric vehicle lineup. This compact sports crossover, set to hit the markets in 2026, will be based on the E-GMP platform, the same platform that underpins some of the most advanced electric vehicles in the market.
The EV4 GT will be available in two versions: a Fastback and a standard hatchback. The Fastback version, equipped with the larger 81.4-kWh battery, is expected to start at around 47,140 euros in Germany. The standard hatchback, also featuring the larger battery, will start at 43,240 euros, while the GT-line trim will cost the same as the Fastback. The standard hatchback with the smaller battery will start at 37,590 euros.
One of the key features of the EV4 GT is its all-wheel drive system, powered by two electric motors. This setup promises to deliver a dynamic driving experience, setting the EV4 GT apart from its competitors.
In terms of design, the EV4 GT will feature sports seats and a sportier steering wheel, catering to those who seek a more engaging driving experience. Kia may also bring the EV4 GT into the 800-V league, potentially increasing its price, but offering faster charging times and improved performance.
The EV4 GT will charge at a maximum of 400 V, ensuring quick and efficient charging. As an electric vehicle, it will contribute to reducing carbon emissions and promoting sustainable mobility.
