Electric vehicle details unveiled for Cupra Raval model
New Electric Compact Car from Cupra Set for 2026 Launch
Cupra, the Spanish brand under the Volkswagen Group, has unveiled its latest creation – the Raval, an electric compact car set to hit the market in 2026. The unveiling took place just before the IAA 2025 event in Munich, where the disguised production version of the Raval was the centre of attention.
The Raval, with a length of more than four metres, promises to offer driving fun beyond mere practicality. It comes equipped with front-wheel drive and a sporty suspension, making it a compelling choice for those seeking a thrilling driving experience.
Cupra continues its brand-typical strategy with the Raval, aiming to build emotional, driver-oriented electric cars. The Raval is developed on the MEB+ platform, a testament to its commitment to innovation and sustainability.
The Raval is the first time Cupra is venturing into the compact car segment, marking a significant expansion in its product portfolio. Production of the Raval will start in 2025 in Martorell, where the sister model VW ID. Polo is also produced.
The special wrapping on the Raval references El Raval, a neighbourhood in Barcelona, emphasising the vehicle's urban character. While specifications and features of the Raval were not disclosed, it is clear that the Raval is part of the new, accessible electric offensive of the Volkswagen Group.
The Raval offers various battery and performance variants, including a top VZ version with 166 kW (225 PS), sport suspension, and differential. More details and images of the Raval can be found online.
The Raval electric compact car is a future model from Cupra, which was initially showcased in a study called Urban Rebel in 2021. The IAA 2025 event was where Cupra offered a first look at the future Raval electric compact car, further cementing its position as a key player in the electric vehicle market.
In summary, the Raval is an exciting new addition to Cupra's lineup, promising a blend of style, performance, and sustainability. With production set to begin in 2025 and the car scheduled for market launch in 2026, electric vehicle enthusiasts have much to look forward to.
