Fire in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky: Two Women and a Dog Rescued
A fire broke out in a three-room apartment on the fourth floor of a residential building in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Kamchatka Krai, on March 7, 2023. The incident occurred early in the morning, and the heavy smoke that ensued made it impossible for the two women living in the apartment and their dog to leave on their own.
The fire brigade was promptly deployed, with the 2nd Fire Company arriving at the scene. They were joined by firefighters from the third fire-rescue unit of the Russian EMERCOM. The firefighters used their rescue equipment to evacuate the people to fresh air.
Fortunately, no casualties were reported as a result of the fire. However, the two women were hospitalized after the rescue. The dog was rescued along with them.
The fire caused damage to bedding and items in one of the rooms, covering an area of five square meters. The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation, with possible causes including faulty electrical equipment or careless smoking.
This incident serves as a reminder to always be cautious when using electrical appliances and never to leave lit cigarettes unattended. It's also important to have a fire evacuation plan in place and to ensure that smoke detectors are functioning correctly.
We hope for the swift recovery of the two women and wish them and their dog all the best. The community of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that this incident has been successfully managed by the local fire brigade.
