Emergency Response Team Bayern: Civil Defense Raising Awareness and Calling Expertise for the Inaugural Conference.
In response to the escalating global tensions and the renewed relevance of civil protection, especially since the start of the war in Ukraine, Dr. Fritz Helge Voß, the THW State Representative for Bavaria, took the initiative to organize a civil protection expert conference in Munich.
The event, which took place recently, brought together over 50 experts from various organizations, including the THW, fire departments, police, medical rescue services, regional civil protection authorities, the police, military, Bavarian Red Cross, German Red Cross, German Lifeboat Association, Johanniter, Maltese Aid Service, and THW specialists from Bonn.
The focus of the conference was on the joint professional exchange about the current challenges in civil protection. Dr. Voß emphasized that effective civil protection requires action from experts and all actors, including the population.
Prior to this conference, a cross-sectoral exchange format on this specific topic did not exist. The aim of the conference was to utilize the expertise of various actors to promote awareness of strong civil protection.
