A warehouse fire on the island of Riems, which took place on August 21, 2025, is currently under investigation by the Police Inspectorate Anklam. The deployment of the fire department and police was prompted by a strong smoke emission from the warehouse.

According to the investigations, the cause of the property damage was the burning of weeds in close proximity to the warehouse. The incident occurred around 10:30 AM, and the hot smoke caused damage amounting to 2,000 euros.

The Police Inspectorate Anklam is focusing its investigation on negligent arson, as the incident involved the fire department and police.
