Emergency Services Team Bavaria Raises Awareness and Invites Specialists for Inaugural Conference on Civil Protection.
In light of the tense global situation, the THW (Technisches Hilfswerk) Regional Association Bavaria has taken the initiative to organise a civil protection expert conference in Munich. The event, which has been ongoing since the start of the war in Ukraine, attracted over 50 experts from various sectors, including the police, armed forces, fire brigade, Bavarian Red Cross, German Red Cross, German Life-Saving Association, Johanniter Accident Assistance, Maltese Aid Service, and THW leadership.
Dr. Fritz Helge Voß, the THW Regional Representative for Bavaria, spearheaded the conference with the aim of promoting awareness of strong civil protection and fostering joint professional exchange. The conference also served as a platform for all actors and the population to discuss current challenges in civil protection in Bavaria and contribute their assessments of the current situation.

Dr. Voß emphasized the need for all actors and the population to be able to act for good civil protection. In line with this, the THW Bavaria expert conference is launching a forum to improve and intensify cooperation between specialists. THW's tasks include bilateral aid, the EU's civil protection mechanism, and tasks for UN organizations. The organisation is in high demand worldwide for crises, offering specialists, technology, and experience.
