"Endurance essential in Merz's support, according to Heino"

In a recent interview with the German Press Agency in Cologne, popular German singer Heino has voiced his support for the new black-red federal government led by Chancellor Friedrich Merz. Heino, who campaigned for the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) during the Bundestag elections, believes there is no need for pessimism about the new government.

The singer compared the current political situation to a child falling into a well and getting it out, implying that while challenges exist, they can be addressed and overcome. Heino expressed faith in the new government and its determination, referring to Merz's time in office since May.

Heino also made it clear that he desires to see outgoing leaders Olaf Scholz and Robert Habeck leave their positions, and has expressed his support for Merz's party in order to bring about this change.

Recent polls have shown a majority of respondents are dissatisfied with the coalition's work so far. In the ARD "Germany Trend" poll from August, only 29 percent of respondents were satisfied with the coalition's work, a decrease of 10 percentage points from the previous month.

Heino, however, believes that the 16 years of Angela Merkel's governance cannot be undone overnight and urged patience regarding the new federal government. Heino's comments come as the black-red federal government, led by Chancellor Merz, continues to face criticism and scrutiny in its early days.
