Energy advisory service for residents in both business and religious districts, offering guidance on efficient energy use for homes
In an effort to make residential buildings more energy-efficient and climate-friendly, the city of Gießen, in collaboration with the Hessian Energy Agency (LEA Hessia), is kicking off the "Active Energy Supply" campaign on September 10, 2025. This marks the fourth consecutive year of this initiative.
The campaign, running until November 19, 2025, will kick off with an event on the campus of the Technical University of Middle Hesse. Mayor Alexander Wright will welcome attendees and present the campaign, followed by information about district heating connections and heat pump usage in the area.
Interested property owners can register for a consultation appointment online, by email ([email protected]), or by phone (0641 306-2110). During these on-site consultations, topics such as efficient thermal insulation, modern heating technology, and the optimal use of renewable energies will be discussed.
Qualified energy consultants, including Dr. Anna Meier, Lukas Schmidt, and Sarah Müller, will be available to answer individual questions at the event. Homeowners can receive a free, individual energy consultation directly at their home as part of the campaign.
The campaign is open to homeowners of single and two-family homes in the Evangelical Settlement, Professor's Quarter, and two adjacent areas. Information stands from Stadtwerke Gießen, Sparkasse Gießen, and Volksbank Middle Hesse will provide further information on energy renovation, funding, and financing options.
Mayor Wright emphasizes that bringing energy consulting directly to the neighbourhoods is a key aspect of their approach. The goal of the campaign is to help homeowners reduce their energy consumption and contribute to climate protection.
Participating homeowners will receive initial individual recommendations and practical tips for their next steps. The campaign aims to increase the energy renovation quota and strengthen the quality of living and climate protection in the community. For more information, visit Visited Energy Efficiency.
