Energy collaboration within our organization initiates photovoltaic setups' activation

The Intermunicipal Energy Alliance in the District of Fürth, comprising the district of Fürth and the market municipalities of Cadolzburg and Roßtal, is making a strong statement for sustainable energy supply and climate protection in the region.

In a series of initiatives, the alliance has put four photovoltaic systems into operation this spring. The first system was installed on the roof of the wastewater treatment plant in Roßtal, with the photovoltaic system on the recycling center optimally aligned to the south for high solar power generation. The multi-purpose hall in Wachendorf and the building yard in Cadolzburg also host photovoltaic systems, with the roof shape of the multi-purpose hall allowing for optimal south alignment, ensuring high power production.

Each system has a capacity of about 30 kilowatt peak. The electricity generated on the recycling center is fed into the public grid, while the systems in Cadolzburg are designed to mainly consume the generated electricity in the respective buildings. Due to the slight north inclination of the roof of the dining hall, less electricity is produced here compared to the recycling center, but the better utilization of the generated electricity compensates for this disadvantage.

Excess electricity from the systems in Cadolzburg is expected to cover a large part of the electricity demand locally. In Roßtal, due to the constant high electricity consumption at the wastewater treatment plant, hardly any excess electricity is expected for feeding into the public grid.

An innovative approach can be found at the Realschule Zirndorf, where the electricity generated on the dining hall is exclusively consumed in the school, making it a so-called zero-feed-in system.

In the coming days, a tenant electricity system is to be installed on the new multi-family house of the housing cooperative in Wachendorf. The roofs of kindergartens, schools, and town halls in the participating municipalities are currently being checked for their suitability for photovoltaics.

District Administrator Bernd Obst, Mayor Sarah Höfler from Cadolzburg, and Mayor Rainer Gegner from Roßtal are united in their opinion about the Intermunicipal Energy Alliance. They believe that the alliance is setting a strong signal for sustainable energy supply and climate protection in the region.

Despite the search results not providing information about the person who leads EnergieAllianz Fürth GmbH, the alliance's commitment to a sustainable future is clear. With each new project, the alliance continues to pave the way for a greener and more energy-independent Fürth District.
