In a bid to combat electricity theft, residents of the Yakutsk area are being encouraged to report any suspicious cases. The Telegram bot, Yakutskenergo_ZadaiVopros_bot, provides a platform for reporting such incidents.

Recent raids by PJSC "Yakutskenergo" against unauthorized energy consumers from August 19 to August 28, identified regions including Yakutsk city and its surrounding districts. The company conducted a total of 65 raids, and 15 acts of unaccounted-for electricity consumption were drawn up, totaling over 200,000 kWh.

Illegal electricity consumption includes unauthorized network connections and meter interference. Such actions are not only illegal but also dangerous, causing network fluctuations, appliance failures, increased risk of emergency outages, and fires. Unauthorized connections can lead to accidents, fires, and disruptions in electricity supply for law-abiding consumers.

Dmitry Shuválov, Deputy Chief Engineer of CEC, stated that each act of electricity theft is not just an economic loss but a threat to the electricity supply's reliability. He emphasized that every resident has a role to play in ensuring the stability of the power grid.

Russian legislation imposes serious penalties for electricity theft. For the first offense, fines for officials range from 30,000 to 80,000 rubles, for legal entities from 100,000 to 200,000 rubles, and for citizens from 10,000 to 15,000 rubles. For repeat offenses, fines for officials range from 80,000 to 200,000 rubles, for legal entities from 200,000 to 300,000 rubles, and for citizens from 15,000 to 30,000 rubles.

Preventive work and explanatory events are being strengthened by the company to educate the public about the importance of reporting suspected cases of electricity theft. The free Yakutskenergo Contact Center phone number is 8-800-100-22-05, providing an additional avenue for residents to report any suspicious activities.

Specialists of Central Electric Grid Company (PJSC "Yakutskenergo") are working tirelessly to reduce energy losses and ensure a reliable electricity supply for all residents.
