Engineering firm Egis participates in the UNESCO World Engineering Day 2025 initiative
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has launched the World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development (WED) 2025, an international celebration aimed at showcasing the role of engineers in meeting the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The theme of WED 2025 is "Shaping our sustainable future through engineering", and the event is open to everyone. The WED campaign, a year-long series of events, films, articles, and news, will go live from 4 March 2025 at www.worldengineeringday.net.
Egis Group, an authority in intelligent infrastructure, has been selected as an official partner for WED 2025. The French multinational company's work is guided by the UN's Sustainable Development Goals, and its commitment to delivering 'future ready' solutions that are more sustainable, resilient, and inclusive is evident in its participation in this global initiative.
Jacques de Mereuil, Executive Director of the World Federation for Engineering Organizations (WFEO), expressed his excitement about the involvement of Egis Group in the WED 2025 launch and campaign. "We are thrilled to have Egis Group as a partner for WED 2025," said de Mereuil. "Their insights and expertise will be an integral part of our 12-month campaign."

"At Egis Group, we are committed to delivering solutions that are not only innovative but also sustainable and inclusive," said Jauroyon. "We are proud to be a part of WED 2025 and to contribute to shaping a sustainable future for all."
All campaign content, including a multimedia hub dedicated to Egis Group, is hosted on the WED website. The WED campaign has an estimated global reach of over 100 million individuals, providing a platform for Egis Group to showcase its work and inspire the next generation about the opportunities in a career in engineering.
Mustafa Shehu, President of the WFEO, also aims to inspire the next generation about the opportunities in a career in engineering. "WED 2025 is an opportunity to showcase the role of engineers in meeting the UN's SDG targets and to inspire the next generation to join our ranks," said Shehu. "I am excited to see what Egis Group will bring to the table and how they will contribute to our shared goal of a sustainable future."
The SJH Group is the official media partner and broadcaster for WED, providing coverage of the events, interviews with key figures in the engineering industry, and insights into the latest developments in sustainable engineering.
The WED campaign is a joint operation between UNESCO and the WFEO, with the aim of raising awareness about the importance of engineering in achieving the UN's SDGs and inspiring the next generation of engineers.
