Engines undergoing aquatic tubing experiments and potato-related developments
The picturesque town of Mahdental is set to host two exciting events this weekend, attracting tens of thousands of visitors. The 18th edition of Europe's largest independent motorcycle meeting, the "Glemseck 101", and the Hunter, Farmer, and Forester Festival are ready to offer a unique blend of speed, music, and culture.
The "Glemseck 101" is more than just a racing event; it's described as a way of life. Sprint races, live music, and a festive atmosphere will fill the air from Friday to Sunday. Notable events include the barrel tapping on Saturday at 17:00, followed by live music and a bar from 21:00, and the music performances at the Hotel Glemseck starting from 20:00, featuring country, rock'n'roll, and rockabilly sounds.
For the young horse lovers, pony rides will be available, and riders will compete in more than 20 show jumping and dressage tests on both Saturday and Sunday. The 59th Leonberger Riding Games are also taking place at the Reiterzentrum Tilgshäusle.
The Hunter, Farmer, and Forester Festival, happening on the farm in the Pinadelle, offers a taste of wild specialties and a chance to explore the "School Bench, Slate, Outhouse" tour in the Leonberger Old Town on Sunday. The tour, with a meeting point at 4 pm at the market fountain, offers historical insights for adults for five euros, while children under 16 years can join for free.
The festival also includes an ecumenical church service, followed by a performance by the hunting horn players on Sunday. On Sunday, a hunting dog breed show, an action area forest, and a learning nature spot for youngsters are also on the agenda.
Please note that some roads will be closed during the large motorcycle meeting. Free passage, the best parking spaces, and bus information for the festival are available. Visitors are advised to bring comfortable shoes for the journey.
The organisers of the Hunter, Farmer, and Forestry Festival are the Hunting and Forestry Association of Perouse. District Youth Pastor Jürgen Schwarz, a self-proclaimed motorcycle enthusiast, will speak a blessing before the races.
Join the excitement in Mahdental this weekend, where the roar of engines meets the charm of rural life!
