Enhanced mobile communication services in the Rhine-Neckar district, brought about by Telekom.

Deutsche Telekom, the leading mobile network provider in Germany, has announced the expansion of its mobile network in the Rhein-Neckar district. This expansion is in response to the increasing demand for bandwidth, which is growing by around 30% each year, according to Lena Raschke, spokesperson for Deutsche Telekom.

The latest addition to the network is a new antenna site in Rauenberg, which serves the area along the Mannheim-Karlsruhe railway line. This development is part of Telekom's commitment to providing reliable mobile coverage to its customers.

In addition to the new site, Telekom has also modernized existing mobile phone antennas in Dielheim, Sinsheim, and Wiesloch. These upgrades aim to enhance the quality of service and support the Advanced Mobile Location (AML) emergency call technology and the Cell Broadcast warning system.

AML automatically transmits the caller's location to the emergency control center during emergency calls to 112, ensuring quick and accurate response. On the other hand, Cell Broadcast sends danger messages to mobile phones in the affected radio cell, providing critical information in cases of major emergencies such as fires, gas explosions, or floods.

The mobile network expansion measures carried out in the last four weeks have significantly improved the mobile network in the Rhein-Neckar district. As a result, mobile coverage in the district has been increased to 93%, and the supply of households with fast mobile internet has been boosted to 99%.

Looking ahead, Telekom plans to add 26 new sites and expand 86 mobile phone sites with LTE or 5G in the Rhein-Neckar district over the next three years. Those who wish to offer a site for a roof or mast can contact Deutsche Funkturm at www.dfmg.de/standortangebot.

The company continues to invest in its infrastructure to ensure its customers stay connected, wherever they are.
