Deutsche Telekom has announced the expansion of its mobile network in Potsdam-Mittelmark County, aiming to improve mobile internet coverage and support the growing demand for bandwidth.

The mobile network sites in the region are operated by Deutsche Telekom itself, with Deutsche Funkturm building the infrastructure. The expansion will see 33 sites enhanced with LTE or 5G technology, with one LTE antenna site already added in the past four weeks.

Georg von Wagner, the spokesperson for Deutsche Telekom, confirmed the news, stating, "We are pushing ahead with mobile network expansion in the area to meet the increasing demand for bandwidth."

Household coverage with fast mobile networks in Potsdam-Mittelmark County is already at 99%, and the mobile internet coverage currently stands at 90%. The A2 highway is seeing better mobile coverage due to the network enhancements, ensuring smoother connectivity for commuters.

In addition to the improved internet coverage, the mobile network sites in the region support the Advanced Mobile Location (AML) emergency technology and the Cell Broadcast warning system. This means that emergency calls and warnings are possible at all sites in the expanded network, enhancing public safety.

Landlords who lease areas for new sites can expect a long-term, location-appropriate rent. Interested parties can offer a site for a rooftop or mast location at www.dfmg.de/standortangebot.

Deutsche Telekom's mobile network in the region has been modernized at existing sites, such as those in Kloster Lehnin. Furthermore, an additional 23 sites are planned for the next three years.

The company's mobile network in Potsdam-Mittelmark County has been recognised as the best in Germany by specialist magazines Chip, connect, ComputerBild, and Imtest. This accolade underscores Deutsche Telekom's commitment to providing high-quality mobile services to its customers.
