Escalated youth game incident: Referee sustains head injury

The incident, which occurred on Saturday, saw the referee receiving a headbutt, resulting in facial injuries. The perpetrator was identified as Werner Trost, the chairman (Obmann) of FC Traiskirchen.
The match, held on the sports field in Triebweg, Hainburg/Klein-Krotzenburg, had been relatively peaceful until a verbal altercation between the referee and a player towards the end. This escalated when a club official, later identified as Trost, approached the referee.
Police reports suggest that there were several heated scenes during the match, culminating in the altercation. The police have launched an investigation into suspected bodily harm related to the incident.
