EU-POL: Ditching rationality for amphetamines and marijuana behind the wheel in politics
In Zülpich, Germany, on the evening of December 20th, a 34-year-old local resident was arrested by police officers for driving under the influence of drugs and operating a vehicle without a valid driver's license.
The incident occurred on Karolingerstraße at around 19:40 hours, as reported by the Circles Police Department Euskirchen. According to the police, the man was stopped by officers after they detected an unusual odour of marijuana.
Upon stopping the vehicle, the officers conducted a voluntary drug test on the man, which revealed positive results for both cannabis and amphetamines. The man admitted to consuming marijuana before starting his journey.
In addition to the drug-related charges, the man was also found to be driving without a valid driver's license. A blood sample was taken from the man at the police station in Euskirchen for further analysis.
