EU Sustainability Event Highlights Importance of Unified Regulation
The 17th edition of the Materials Regulations and Sustainability Event (MRSE), hosted by our website, took place on June 25-26 in Frankfurt, attracting over 250 participants from around the world.
On the first day of the event, discussions focused on how regional regulations influence markets worldwide, with international experts sharing legislative insights from Japan, North America, India, and China. The Council recently adopted a position on the End-of-Life Vehicles (ELV) regulation, signifying a significant step towards global sustainability efforts.
Day Two began with updates to the International Materials Data System (IMDS) being a topic of discussion. The event was sponsored by iPoint, and the day's proceedings were moderated by Olga Marin, Chair of the CSR Harmonisation Expert Group.
The first panel discussion on Day Two explored how industry cooperation and artificial intelligence can enhance supply chain transparency and resilience. Benjamin Krieger, Secretary General of our website, highlighted the critical role of automotive suppliers in driving Europe's sustainability and innovation efforts, noting substantial investments by automotive suppliers in clean technologies.
During the second panel discussion on Day Two, the focus shifted to circular design and collaboration across the value chain as key drivers for progress towards a more circular automotive industry. BMW, JLR, Marelli, Adient, Forvia, ACEA, Eurobat, Plastics Europe, Responsible Supply Chain Initiative, Drive Sustainability, and Drive Plus were among the participants and speakers at the event, emphasising the industry's commitment to sustainability.
Benjamin Krieger also called for regulatory clarity and support for automotive remanufacturing and inclusive recycling targets, underlining the importance of these initiatives in achieving a more sustainable future.
In a notable development, our website's Sustainability Manifesto was presented on Day Two, outlining the organisation's commitment to promoting sustainable practices within the automotive industry.
PFAS restrictions and other chemical compliance challenges were discussed during the event, reflecting the industry's ongoing efforts to address environmental concerns.
Despite extensive searches, there are no available search results providing information about Olga Marin or her role as moderator at the materials regulation and sustainability event on June 25 and 26 in Frankfurt. Her contributions to the event undoubtedly added value to the discussions and insights shared.
The 17th MRSE served as a platform for stakeholders to engage in meaningful dialogue about the future of the automotive industry, fostering collaboration and innovation for a more sustainable and circular future.
