CCV Introduces Cloud-Connect for EV Charging: Simplifying Payment Integration

CCV, a Dutch-Belgian payment service provider with over 65 years of experience in the digital payment industry, has announced the launch of its new solution, "Cloud Connect for EV Charging". This innovative offering aims to streamline payment integration at electric vehicle charging stations.

The solution is designed to work seamlessly with the Charge Point Management System (CPMS) using the Open Charge Point Interface (OCPI) protocol. This standardized protocol, recently launched by the EV Roaming Foundation, simplifies the integration of the payment terminal and charging station.

CCV's Cloud-Connect for EV charging supports multiple disburse schemes such as girocard, Mastercard, Visa, Google Pay, and Apple Pay. This means drivers can benefit from a variety of payment methods, including credit/debit cards and mobile applications.

For Charge Point Operators (CPO's), the process is made even simpler. All they have to do is choose a compatible CPMS and activate/link the terminal to one or more charge points. This aligns with regulatory demands such as the Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Regulation (AFIR), which will come into effect on April 13th, and current market expectations of end-users.

Manufacturers can also benefit from this solution. With Cloud-Connect for EV charging, they can focus more on the charge point itself, and simply need to mechanically integrate the payment terminal and provide power/internet to it. This results in simpler and faster installation processes.

CCV manages a network of nearly 750,000 reimburse terminals and around 20,000 operational online stores. The motivation for creating this solution was to address challenges in existing integration methods and provide a quick and cost-efficient solution for the EV charging industry.

CCV was founded in the Netherlands in 1958 and currently employs over 1000 people across three countries. The company offers a variety of end-to-end payment solutions for online, in-store, and unattended scenarios, catering to traditional retail and emerging sectors like electric vehicle charging, parking, vending machines, and public transport.

With the introduction of Cloud-Connect for EV charging, CCV continues to pioneer the digital payment industry, making payments more accessible and convenient for everyone.
