European Road Police Collaboration: Broken County Police Participated in Operation Speed
The Circular Police Authority Borken conducted speed checks at 16 locations in the district, recording the speed of 3,327 vehicles and finding 609 drivers to be driving too fast.
The traffic department plans to continue its measurements in the coming week to combat and prevent these accidents. The speed checks were carried out in various parts of the district, including Gronau, Bocholt, Schöppingen, and the inner city of Ahaus.
In Gronau, a violation occurred on Losser Straße with a speed of 52 km/h, exceeding the maximum of 30 km/h. Similarly, in the South district, a violation occurred on Dinxperloer Straße in Bocholt with a speed of 84 km/h, exceeding the maximum of 50 km/h. Particularly serious violations occurred at the North district - inner city with a maximum speed of 92 km/h, exceeding the speed limit of 50 km/h on the parallel street in Ahaus.
Outside the city, a violation also occurred in Schöppingen, where a car was clocked at 113 km/h on L 582, exceeding the speed limit of 70 km/h. In the last days within Kreis Borken, several drivers exceeded the speed limit of 70 km/h; notably, on the L606 in Isselburg, a driver was caught at 111 km/h where only 50 km/h was allowed, resulting in points, a ban, and a fine.
